Zone A Venue Rental Rules
No smoking within the premises.
The venue must not be used for any illegal activities.
Renters and venue users must keep the venue clean and dispose of trash in designated bins.
Any damage or loss to the facilities must be compensated by the renter.
Users must follow the instructions of the management personnel during their use of the venue.
Dangerous items are prohibited in the venue.
All users must vacate the venue on time at the end of the reserved session to allow other users to use the venue.
All users must vacate Zone A within 15 minutes after the end of the reserved session/time. If users fail to leave on time, the renter will be charged for an additional hour of venue usage.
In the event that the Observatory issues a No. 8 tropical cyclone warning signal, Zone A will be closed immediately. After the No. 8 or above tropical cyclone warning signal is canceled, Zone A will reopen as soon as possible within two hours, if conditions permit. Management personnel also have the discretion to close the facility if they deem it unsafe or impractical to open for use due to safety or operational reasons.
In the case of cancellation of confirmed reservations due to severe weather or any force majeure circumstances, Zone A will not refund the renter for the unused session. The renter may reschedule the unused session within 30 days (including the original booking date). Zone A will endeavor to provide suitable sessions for make-up use.
If any user or other person is injured or any facility is damaged, the Zone A management must be notified immediately.
If any person using Zone A's facilities suffers death, injury, loss, or damage due to any act, omission, negligence, misconduct, or failure on the part of the renter or any person permitted to enter Zone A by the renter, resulting in any lawsuit, claim, or legal action against Zone A, its employees, or agents, the renter must indemnify Zone A, its employees, and agents for all such lawsuits, claims, and legal actions and be fully responsible for the indemnification.
If any person fails to comply with the terms of use, the Zone A management has the right to cancel confirmed reservations and immediately terminate the applicant's use of the facility. In such cases, the applicant must vacate the facility immediately. The Zone A management has the right to evict individuals who violate the terms of use from Zone A. In such cases, the reservation will be automatically canceled, and any fees paid will be forfeited.
The renter must ensure that any promotional materials related to activities held at Zone A comply with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and do not contain false, misleading, or deceptive information, defamatory, improper, obscene, or offensive elements, or cause public discomfort. The renter must provide samples of all promotional materials (e.g., banners, flags, notices, and backdrops) with details of their content, design, and wording for Zone A's review. Such promotional materials must be approved by Zone A before being displayed. Without prior written approval from Zone A, no promotional material related to the activity shall imply or suggest any affiliation between Zone A and the renter and/or the renter's event. The renter must indemnify and fully compensate Zone A and its employees and agents for any claims, lawsuits, or legal actions resulting from the renter's violation or non-compliance with this provision.
Depending on the nature of the venue use/activity, the Zone A management may set a maximum number of users for the rented facility for public safety and management considerations.
Zone A reserves the right to refuse/cancel rental arrangements without prior notice to the applicant/renter, limit the number of users and/or spectators entering the venue, or refuse entry to any person for hygiene reasons or any other reasons, and/or impose additional conditions related to the use of Zone A's facilities.
If an activity held at Zone A involves the playing of the national anthem, the renter must comply with the National Anthem Ordinance (document A405) and notify the Zone A management of the arrangement for playing the national anthem before the rental date.
According to the National Flag and National Emblem Ordinance (document A401) and the Regional Flag and Regional Emblem Ordinance (document A602), if the renter wishes to display, use, or raise the national flag/ regional flag and/or national emblem/ regional emblem during the rental period, they must ensure that their design complies with the relevant ordinance and submit a written application to the relevant government department in advance.
